"Suffering is our call to pay attention, a call to investigate the truth of our beliefs" - Tara Brach
A warm welcome to you!
My name is Amy Wang, and I offer yoga and mindfulness meditation classes in the Bay Area, California. My style is to teach yoga in a gentle but precise way, with the aim of releasing tension in the body, mind, and nervous system. In my meditation offerings, my aim is to encourage curiosity and compassion about our minds and the development of mindfulness, presence, kindness, compassion, equanimity, and other beneficial mind-states.
Trainings:
I have completed 500-hours of yoga teacher training through Breathe Together Yoga studio in Los Gatos. I'm also a UCLA-certified mindfulness instructor; I completed the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center's year-long Training in Mindfulness Facilitation program in 2021. In 2020, I finished the Stanford University CCARE's year-long Applied Compassion Training ( http://ccare.stanford.edu/education/applied-compassion-training).
My aspiration is to live my life from the ethical foundations of Dharma and yoga teachings. Out of my deep love and respect for the teachings, in turn I aspire to teach with my heartfelt wish that, "May all beings be safe, happy, healthy and live with wisdom. May all beings be free from suffering."
Teaching Experience:
I'm teaching yoga and meditation classes at Cancer CAREpoint in San Jose, at the Meadows Behavioral Health Center in Sunnyvale, and Namalay Yoga Studio in San Jose. Previously, I have taught at The Bay Clubs fitness center, Breathe Together Yoga Studio, and the Ocean of Compassion Meditation Center in Campbell. I'm available to teach group classes, corporate classes, private lessons or small groups. I look forward to hearing from you! Please feel free to contact me using the Contact link above.
